Born in 1990: A Hungarian beginning. A Danish life.

Daniel Lund's story of two homelands, identity, and belonging

Daniel Lund was born Daniel Kalászi on 21 November 1990 in Miskolc, Hungary. He spent the first 2 years of his life in an orphanage before being adopted by a Danish family and raised in Denmark. Adoption was never a secret in his home - it was an open, ongoing conversation, and diversity was normalised from the start.

Now, at 35, Daniel is sitting down with Kindred Ponderings to share his story across a 4-part series - from his earliest beginnings in Hungary, to a childhood shaped by Danish values, to the evolving sense of identity, legacy, and belonging he carries as an adult in a changing Europe.
