Creating expansion

Families evolve through birth, adoption, fostering, surrogacy, relationships, friendships and in other ways.

I want to create awareness and expansion and normalise family diversity.

I’m Pip Baume…and Welcome to Kindred Ponderings.

This is a place to share our unique stories and experiences.

My family forest

For me, I don’t have a family tree – I have a family forest.

I was adopted by my mum and dad when I was 2 weeks old.

I grew up with my older brother, and we had our parent’s families in our lives.

I met my birth mother when I was 20 years old. And my birth father when I was 28.

As life went along, my family expanded with birth siblings, aunts, uncles and more, as well as friends who I regard as family.

My mum used to say, you’re very inclusive…but it complicates your life.

Being open and inclusive has created complexity. It’s also manifested my family forest.

Celebrating our uniqueness

Through Kindred Ponderings I’ll unpack my experiences and thoughts.

I’ll also share the stories of people who want to join me on this journey.

Let’s celebrate our uniqueness and create awareness of family diversity together.
